Everyone's contribution is important

Economic, social and environmental responsibility are the main guidelines of KazakhExport's activities in sustainable development. Based on the principles of the UN Global Compact, transparency and ethics, and desire for continuous progress, they are reflected in the Sustainable Development Policy of EIC KazakhExport JSC (hereinafter - the SDP), adopted by the decision of the Company's Board of Directors on November 20, 2019. 

The Company also has a Plan for SDGs implementation for 2020-2021, the activities of which are aimed at consistent integration of sustainable development issues into all business processes of KazakhExport.

At the initial stage, all employees of the Company were trained in the principles of SDP and solidified their knowledge in this area through testing.

 - The preparatory work done is very important, because effectiveness of the implementation of SDGs in the Company depends on the extent to which each employee understands and accepts the goals and objectives of sustainable development and correlates them with the Company's mission and their contribution to this process, - says the Director of the International Cooperation Department Nurlan Zhanbatyrov.

According to him, this is not only the economic and social components, as many people used to think in the first place, but also the formation of environmental awareness: rational use of resources on the principle of "green office", saving electricity and water, sorting waste and much more.

Involvement of employees and their desire to perform their work as best as possible is an important indicator for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

This year, the level of involvement of the Company's employees according to the results of the study conducted by Ernst & Young Kazakhstan LLP increased by 4% compared to 2019 and amounted to 85%.

 - According to the results of this year's research, our Company showed the highest increase in the level of involvement in comparison with other subsidiaries of Baiterek NMH JSC and rose to the second place in terms of employee involvement among all the subsidiaries of the Holding, - says N. Zhanbatyrov.   

In turn, in the direction of social responsibility, the Company strives to maximize the provision of transparent competitive procedures and equal employment opportunities, fair remuneration and respect for the rights of employees, their training and professional development, implementation of internal and external social programs.
