Representatives of major outlet chain of Uzbekistan visited Kazakhstan

Export Insurance Company KazakhExport has arranged a number of business meetings in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty between major outlet chain of Uzbekistan MAKRO and local food and non-food producers.

During five days between April 4 and 8, chief executives of the retail food product distributor MAKRO had meetings with such local producers as Maslodel, Bizhan, Tsesna, RG Brands, Kamerton, Raimbek, MPS and a lot of others. Overall, more than 57 companies of Kazakhstan have been invited. During business meetings the parties have agreed on mutually beneficial cooperation to promote Kazakhstan's goods from all the regions of Kazakhstan to shelves of MAKRO chain of Uzbek supermarkets.

Director of MARKO’s Logistic Department Alexandr Borzov is convinced that today their supermarkets and hypermarkets offer comfortable purchases in reasonable environment with safe quality goods and opportunity to pay using a credit card. ‘That is why we are planning to expand area of our activities both in Uzbekistan and throughout Central Asia. In 2021, MAKRO plans to launch other 20 supermarkets and 80 express markets. We strongly believe in promotion of our network since consumer conduct in Uzbekistan and daily buying patterns switch from bazaars to shops as it happened in such neighboring countries as Kazakhstan and Russia,’ he points out.

Deputy Chairman of KazakhExport Management Board Aslan Kaligazin indicates that such kind of meetings will allow producers in the FMCG sector throughout Kazakhstan look for new sales markets and partnership with such major player as Uzbek chain MAKRO will ensure growth of Kazakhstan’s companies and most importantly recognizability of local brands throughout Central Asia. MAKRO operates in compliance with high standards and it is a strong market player in Uzbekistan. For instance, by the end of Q1 2021 they plan to introduce an integrated system compliant with ISO 9001 and 22000 standards. Close contact and partnership relations with colleagues from Uzbekistan are a win-win strategy,’ Mr Kaligazin sums up.
