KazakhExport participates in CIIE 2020 online
Today, Shanghai hosted the grand opening of the Kazakhstan Pavilion at the International Import Expo (CIIE 2020). The ceremony was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to China Gabit Koishibayev, representatives of foreign trade organizations, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and more than 30 official foreign delegations. The Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov welcomed the Expo participants.
The Expo runs November 5 to10, 2020, and it is an effective platform for direct entry of Kazakhstan food products to the Chinese market.
35 companies in the food sector present our country's products, 14 of which use KazakhExport support instruments.
Today, within the framework of the Expo, KazakhExport representatives held B2B meetings with Chinese purchasing companies that showed special interest in Kazakh flour, sunflower and safflower oil, meat and dairy products. Agreements were reached on establishing appropriate business contacts with Kazakhstan manufacturers.
- I would like to note that a lot of preparatory work was done prior to the Expo. A catalog of domestic exporters that received Baiterek NMH JSC support has been developed, which includes 234 Kazakhstan producers, 70 of them already have permit for export to China. This catalog is sent to representatives of the business community in China. In addition, an online seminar was held for domestic exporters with the participation of potential Chinese importers, during which the main problematic issues faced by producers when exporting products to China were discussed. I hope that the active work of our Company's representatives at the Expo will open up the Chinese market for Kazakhstan producers, - the representative of KazakhExport emphasizes.
Following the results of the Expo, KazakhExport will consolidate requests from Chinese purchasing companies, organize additional point-based B2B negotiations for interested Chinese importers and Kazakhstan producers to effectively promote Kazakh products to the Chinese market.

The initiative to hold the International Import Expo (CIIE) was launched in May 2017 in the framework of One Belt One Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, when China's President Xi Jinping proposed to regularly hold an International Import Expo in Shanghai in 2018.
