The KazakhExport became a member of the international UN Zero Emissions Alliance

KazakhExport "Export Insurance Company JSC joined as an affiliated participant to the Net Zero Export Credit Agencies Alliance (NZECA) International Alliance of export credit agencies for zero emissions. The corresponding document was signed within the framework of the World Climate Summit (COP28).

The NZECA is a new project carried out with the support of the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and the Center for Innovation at the University of Oxford. The Alliance's members comprise the world's largest export credit agencies

By joining NZECA, KazakhExport has committed to supporting Kazakh exporters in their transition to a low-carbon economy, promoting emissions reduction and shifting strategic focus towards environmentally neutral, climate-resilient projects and investments.

“Financial institutions, banks and insurance organizations, when forming a portfolio and selecting projects, are the translator of the system of values and strategic guidelines for business. In our case, by recommending and motivating the real sector with insurance benefits and the search for funding, we want to help production workers enter the active stage of transition to more environmentally friendly production. For us, joining the NZECA is a way of taking progressive experiences and adapting them to our realities on the path to carbon neutrality. We consider the UNEP FI the best platform for developing common approaches in such a serious direction,” - said the Deputy Chairman of KazakhExport Board Ayan Bektybayeva.

Bektybayeva also expressed confidence that this initiative will strengthen the sustainability and investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan and emphasized that, as part of its corporate ESG activities, KazakhExport has already begun shaping and long-term planning of the climate agenda.

The course towards low-carbon development and achieving carbon neutrality is defined by the KazakhExport as a strategic priority in accordance with the Strategy for Achieving Carbon Neutrality of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2060, approved by the decree of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, taking into account global climate trends and the UN sustainable development goals.
