The volume of support for Kazakh exporters has reached a record high - 259.1 billion tenge

According to operational data, the volume of support for Kazakh exporters by the KazakhExport Export Insurance Company JSC in 2022 reached a record high of 259.1 billion tenge. In 2021, 2020, this figure did not exceed 204.7 billion tenge and 134 billion tenge, respectively. The volume of provided pre-export and export-trade financing amounted to 20.02 billion tenge.

According to Aslan Kaligazin, Chairman of the Board of the KazakhExport, in the first half of 2022 the exports of many countries dipped noticeably due to the unstable economic situation, in the second half of the year, Kazakh companies managed to adapt to changes and restore their foreign trade operations.

 

“In 2022, the KazakhExport provided support to 80 exporters, 21 of them are those with whom they have not previously cooperated. They have established trade relations with 526 overseas buyers. It is worth noting that, without using budgetary funds, under the insurance coverage of the KazakhExport from financial institutions, additional funds were raised to support Kazakh exports in the amount of 166.2 billion tenge,” said Aslan Kaligazin.

 

The list of export destinations includes such countries as Uzbekistan, Russia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Italy and Turkey.

In terms of industries, the food industry - 42% (fat and oil products, drinks, salt, flour, cereals, starch, confectionery, sausages and meat products). Mechanical engineering and metallurgy account for 24.4% and 14.4%, respectively, exports of services - 5.3%, chemical products - 3.4%, agricultural products - 2.4%.

Among the key events of the Company over the past period are signing strategic agreements with banks of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan to stimulate demand for imports of goods and services from Kazakhstan with the attraction of concessional financing under a letter of credit, Iran in the field of guarantees and insurance of export credits and investments, Kyrgyzstan in the framework of reinsurance.

The agreements reached open access for Kazakh producers to the foreign market and stimulate the growth of non-commodity exports.

It should be noted that from 2016 to the present, the KazakhExport has provided support to 196 Kazakh exporters in the amount of 845.3 billion tenge.
