Kazakhstan and Iran reaffirm their willingness to supporting trade, export credits and investments

        Kazakhstan and Iran intend to strengthen cooperation in the field of guarantees and insurance of export credits and investments. The corresponding memorandum was signed between the KazakhExport Export Insurance Company JSC and the Iranian Export Guarantee Fund (IEGF) within the framework of the Kazakh-Iranian business forum "Investment Opportunities of Kazakhstan", which was held on June 19 in Tehran (Iran).

        The signed document will support and encourage trade and investment between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Kazakhstan to ensure the possibility of supplying goods and services under the project to third countries, as well as strengthen cooperation in the field of guarantees and insurance of export credits and investments.

        In particular, the document provides for such procedures as assessing the creditworthiness of buyers and employers for the purpose of issuing a counter guarantee (both corporate and bank guarantees), parallel insurance, co-insurance and reinsurance, claims prevention and indemnification.

        Kuanysh Mukazhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the KazakhExport JSC, noted that the Memorandum is aimed at expanding bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Iran.

        “With this document, we confirmed our readiness to support trade, investment and other forms of economic cooperation between our countries within the framework of our activities. At the same time, each of the parties can propose a project in their own country and/or in a third country, where cooperation can be carried out in accordance with the terms of the Memorandum,” K. Mukazhanov said.

        In turn, Seyed Reza Alikhani, Chairman and General Director of the IEGF, stressed the importance of cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of export support.

        It should be noted that a list of exporters wishing to supply their products to Iran and purchase for the development of barter deals is currently being formed. At the moment the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Iran will work jointly with Iranian partners on more than 20 Kazakh companies.

        Besides within the framework of the visit of the Head of State K.K.Tokayev to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Kazakh-Iranian Business Forum was held in Tehran. The event was attended by leaders of state bodies and national companies of the two countries, representatives of business community.
