Kazakhstan companies will be assisted to enter the online market in China

New opportunities for domestic exporters to promote Kazakh products on electronic platforms in China were discussed today by participants of an online seminar organized by KazakhExport, a subordinate organization of the Ministry of Trade and Integration and a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding.

The main speaker of the event was Chingiz Sapekov, Director of RPT Trade Ruipintong in Kazakhstan – a company that specializes in bringing products of Kazakhstan enterprises to the virtual trading platforms of the Celestial Empire. In particular, domestic exporters can be assisted with creating business card sites on services in China and mobile apps, conduct marketing analysis, develop a unique packaging design that takes into account the tastes of Chinese consumers, establish communication with market places, and much more.

During the meeting Mr. Sapekov said that the Chinese market of online trade increased by 20-30% to reach $2.3 trillion during the pandemic. In order for Kazakhstan manufacturers to enter the electronic platforms of the Celestial Empire, 12 main trends must be taken into account. For example, China is developing cross-border e-Commerce.

"Kazakhstan exporters can sign up and rent office space in the bonded area and deliver goods to potential clients in small batches through online platforms," explained Sapekov. This is beneficial for large companies that can maintain a team and a warehouse.

Also, domestic manufacturers can focus their supply not on megacities, but on satellite cities.

"Young Chinese residents living in these cities want to consume high quality products, they are ready to buy imported goods," Sapekov explained.

According to him, another trend that will help domestic exporters enter the Chinese market is the use of BigData, a tool that can analyze sales of any product and show the company which products are popular among buyers.

"In the future, BigData can enter all spheres of life. In addition, you should pay attention to mobile Commerce, " the speaker said.

In China, 80% of people buy goods via mobile phones. Also, before purchasing products, Chinese consumers imminently review comments.

"It is not enough for customers to see text and photos, they need video reviews that should be short. For example, you can always find such videos on Alibaba," he said.

During the online seminar, Sergey Salmanov, a foreign representative of EIC "KazakhExport" JSC in China, spoke about the most popular tools for financial and non-financial support for exporters, which are used not only for the export of domestic goods and services to China, but also to other countries.

By contacting KazakhExport on a free basis, the exporter can check the reliability of a foreign buyer. In addition, you can insure deferred payments under export contracts. Domestic producers can also count on pre-export financing through Kazakhstan banks in order to replenish working capital and fulfill their obligations under the contract.

Salmanov noted that it is also possible to use export trade financing, which will stimulate the demand for Kazakhstan products from foreign buyers. This tool is provided to foreign companies for purchasing Kazakhstan goods through domestic banks as part of a letter of credit payment method.

"This year, our company started cooperation with Kazakhstan manufacturer of safflower oil and also helps the exporter to bring the product to the online platforms of China - Taobao and 1688.com, - comments Salmanov.

Recall that in October, KazakhExport held an online seminar for Kazakhstan exporters on Promotion of Kazakhstan Products in Hunan province. The Company's mission is to promote Kazakhstan's producers of non-primary goods and service providers in foreign markets and strengthen their competitiveness by providing effective financial measures to support exports.
