Export credit agency of Kazakhstan and ADGM Reinsurance Association Strengthen Cooperation to Support the Export of Domestic Agribusiness

On February 11, 2026, an official meeting took place between the leadership of the Export credit agency of Kazakhstan and the leaders of the Reinsurance Association of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) — Mr. Usama Kaissi and Ms. Afroditi Boura. The main topic of the negotiations was the creation of strategic mechanisms to expand Kazakh exports to the Middle Eastern and African countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the opportunities for developing the supply of Kazakh agribusiness products to international markets. Special attention was given to the issue of sharing insurance risks between the Kazakh agency and the members of the ADGM Association. This partnership will allow domestic producers to receive more reliable protection when implementing export contracts in regions with high volatility.

With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial sectors, Mr. U. Kaissi led the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Export Credits and Investments (ICIEC), a part of the Islamic Development Bank Group, for 10 years. His deep expertise in the markets of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic world opens up new opportunities for Kazakhstan to introduce innovative reinsurance instruments.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to develop long-term cooperation, which will not only contribute to the growth of trade turnover but also strengthen Kazakhstan's position as a key supplier of food products in the MENA macro-region.
