KazanForum 2025: Kazakhstan Export Pavilion Officially Opened
The 16th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” took place in Kazan.
Held in the capital of Tatarstan since 2009, KazanForum serves as a platform for strengthening trade, economic, scientific, technical, social, and cultural ties between Russia and the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Since 2023, the Forum has held federal status in Russia.
The main mission of this year’s Forum was defined by the organizers as the creation of a sustainable platform for dialogue and practical cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Islamic world countries.
Held from May 13 to 18, the event brought together over 10,000 participants from more than 100 countries. Attendees included representatives of government bodies, financial institutions, international organizations, industry experts, and members of the business community.
The Forum’s agenda featured around 200 events. The central theme, “Digitalization: A New Reality,” was the focus of the main plenary session. In total, 141 conferences were held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Complex, covering a wide range of topics such as Islamic finance, the halal industry, manufacturing and logistics, trade, investment, innovation, and technology. Discussions also addressed current trends in the transformation of the information landscape in OIC countries, including integration and segmentation of the information space.
As part of the Forum, Renat Kaliyev, Regional Director of the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (ECA) in Tatarstan, took part in the opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Pavilion in the Kazan Agro-Industrial Park. The event was attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to Mr. Kaliyev, Kazakh products delivered to the pavilion will now be supplied under ECA’s insurance coverage.
As a result of the Forum activities, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan and Bolashak LLC. The MoU provides for Bolashak LLC to support the promotion of Kazakh goods and services in the Tatarstan market.
Currently, with the support of ECA, Tatarstan imports a wide range of Kazakh products, including confectionery, agricultural machinery, metal products, flour-based goods, and more.
