The Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan shared its experience with the State Insurance Organization of Kyrgyzstan
On May 12, a delegation from the State Insurance Organization of Kyrgyzstan visited the head office of the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (ECA) to exchange experience in the field of export insurance.
During the visit, ECA organized a two-day workshop on best practices and key export support tools, including insurance, guarantees, fundraising, underwriting, and reinsurance. In addition, issues of digitalization, risk management, corporate governance, analysis of export contracts, settlement of insurance claims and systematization of insurance payments were considered.
EKA Business Coach Sharbanu Baigoshkarova emphasized that the developed training program is aimed at supporting exporters at all stages of the export cycle.
"During the seminar, we presented to our colleagues from Kyrgyzstan an updated model of the company's work after obtaining the status of an export credit agency. In addition to studying the mechanisms of our products, we also analyzed a number of practical cases of mutual interest. We hope that this cooperation will mark the beginning of the implementation of many effective and mutually beneficial projects," she said.
It should be noted that in October 2024, by decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the SIO was designated the state operator for insurance of export contracts. Bermet Isayeva, Head of the Foreign Economic Activity Sector of the SIO, added: "We are currently actively developing new export support tools. In this context, the ECA experience is extremely valuable to us. It is known that in recent years there has been a significant increase in trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Our common goal with our Kazakh partners is to increase the share of non–primary exports in the economies of our countries. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the ECA team for the informative seminar, during which we got acquainted with the latest mechanisms and subtleties of insurance."
Representatives of the Kyrgyz delegation highly appreciated the importance of the event for the further development of trade and economic ties between the two countries. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and outlined priority areas for improving the export support system.
