Exporters Forum: Kazakhstan’s exports to China surged by 12.6%

KazakhExport EIC engaged in the Second Exporters Forum, focused on enhancing Kazakh-Chinese trade relations.

The forum saw the participation of representatives from Sichuan and Hubei provinces' business communities. Prominent figures from large enterprises, industry associations, and public sectors of both Kazakhstan and China were also in attendance.

Key discussions at the forum centered around pertinent issues such as exports, logistics, certification, and investment attraction in the context of China.

The event also facilitated bilateral negotiations involving approximately 200 entrepreneurs, leading to discussions on exporting 135 types of goods to China.

During a panel session, Sergey Salmanov, KazakhExport's Special Representative in China, provided insights into the bilateral trade dynamics:

"KazakhExport extends comprehensive support to domestic enterprises engaged in export contracts with China. In 2023, KazakhExport financed 10 Kazakhstani exporters, resulting in exports worth 105 billion tenge. These contracts encompass a variety of products, including sunflower, rapeseed, and safflower oils, flour, apple juice, among others."

According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration, bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and China soared to a record $31.5 billion in 2023. Notably, Kazakhstani exports to China witnessed a significant increase of 12.6 percent, totaling $14.7 billion.

It's worth noting that KazakhExport secured a state guarantee of 129.2 billion tenge to support exports over a 10-year period. This strategic move is expected to boost the company's capacity in accepting insurance obligations and assuming responsibility for insurance and warranty obligations exceeding 650 billion tenge.
