The Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan participated in the international seminar on sustainable development in London

The Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan took part in the annual sustainability seminar in London, organized by the Berne Union and ICC.

The seminar aimed to foster dialogue on implementing sustainability principles in the industry, covering aspects from policy and strategy to technical analysis and practical application in transactions. The event brought together around 100 delegates from various countries.

High-level strategic sessions were held during the seminar, focusing on the comprehensive sustainability framework, its implementation paths, data analysis, market mapping, and an in-depth examination of geographical and sector-specific challenges.

The joint efforts of the seminar participants were aimed at applying sustainability principles in practice in the export credit and investment insurance sector. By bringing together representatives of various stakeholders, the seminar sought to develop a unified approach to implementing sustainable practices in the industry.

It is worth noting that the Kazakhstan Export Credit Agency’s Development Plan for

2024–2033 places significant emphasis on climate change issues, which pose risks to the global economy, affecting societal well-being, resource availability, and energy prices.

Background Information:

The Berne Union is the official name of the International Union of Credit and Investment Insurers. It is an informal association of insurance companies and organizations engaged in export credit and investment insurance. The union was established in 1934 in Bern, Switzerland. According to its charter, only insurance organizations directly involved in export credit insurance can become members. Currently, the union includes around 50 organizations from various countries.

The ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) is the world's largest business organization, representing business interests globally. ICC brings together more than 45 million companies from over 100 countries. Its members range from large multinational corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises.
