KazakhExport has presented measures to support exporters at the OECD expert meeting
On 15 November 2017, some representatives of the NMHC “Baiterek” JSC and the NC EIC” KazakhExport" JSC took part in the 145th meeting of the Working Group on Export Credits and Credit Guarantees of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) held at the OECD Headquarters, Paris. Representatives of the OECD member countries, members of the Berne Union, WTO, World Bank and IMF participated at the meeting.
It is worth noting that Kazakhstan was first invited to attend the meeting of the OECD Export Credit Committee as an observer.
Mr. Ruslan Iskakov, the Chairman of the Management Board of Export Insurance Company “KazakhExport”, presented measures to support an export policy, financial and institutional instruments to support Kazakhstan exporters and the main provisions of the National Export Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the participants of the meeting.
The Kazakhstan Government has been carrying out a large-scale work on the Kazakhstan’s accession to the OECD, which, among other things, requires the bringing of the export support measures system in line with the requirements of the Working Group on Export Credits prior to the award of the status of an OECD member.
The OECD Committees draw up general rules for supporting the national exports of the OECD member countries and carry out a risk assessment of all the countries of the world, which, in turn, determines the cost of financing for enterprises of any form of ownership and state authorities of one or another country from the resources of export credit agencies of the developed countries in the world.
For reference only: export credit agencies of the OECD member countries are the largest creditors of the world trade and economy.
