«KazakhExport» Export insurance company» joint-stock company Participates in Eurasia Business Forum
April 23-24, 2015, Almaty hosted Eurasia Business Forum with the official support from the Republic of Kazakhstan Government, Nur Otan Party, Mayors’ Office of Almaty, Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund. Samruk Kazyna National Welfare Fund, Astana EXPO-2017 National Company and National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan also participated in the Forum.
The event has already become an important part of the international dialogue and an efficient tool for searching partners and investors among thousands of participants from Kazakhstan, and countries near and far abroad including members of the Government and representatives of government agencies, national holdings and management companies, companies operating in the real economy, banks, accounting and consulting groups, international experts and mass media representatives, and many others. The forum also offers a display of Kazakhstan-produced goods and services, international cutting-edge inventions and successful business development technologies.
First day of the forum was devoted to presentations, including reports of executives in state and local government. Panel sessions were opened by Mr. Oleg Smolyakov, Deputy Chair of the Republic of Kazakhstan National Bank. He explained that Kazakh economy is going through a tough time with country’s goods exports falling by 7.6%, and imports – by 15% in 2014. This development will obviously continue in 2015. The GDP growth rate is expected at 1.5%.
Ms. Alina Aldambergen, Deputy Chair of Managing Board of Baiterek Holding gave an account of state investments aimed at providing support to businesses. For these purposes, KZT 445 bln will be allocated through the national holding, and part of these funds have already been received.
On the second day, at the plenary session on international partnership Mr. Yerdan Bekhozhin, Deputy Chair of Managing Board of «KazakhExport» Экспорттық сақтандыру компаниясы» Акционерлік Қоғам, gave a presentation on export credit support provided to Kazakh exporters. He also highlighted that during the existence of the development institution, more than 400 domestic enterprises received financial assistance totaling KZT 186 bln. On top of that, insurance was provided to cover export shipments to traditional markets such as Russia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and such countries as Italy, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, China, USA, Switzerland, Poland, UAE, India, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, Afghanistan and Mongolia. Insured investments were made to Turkey, Iran and Turkmenistan.
